HOODOO SPORTS WARRANTY

At Hoodoo Sports, we stand behind every product we make. Our limited warranties apply only to the original retail purchaser and are non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

đź“‹ Warranty Periods

  • 5-Year Limited Kayak Warranty
  • 5-Year Limited Cooler Warranty
  • 2-Year Limited Pedal Drive Warranty
  • 1-Year Limited Trolling Motor Warranty
  • 90-Day Gear, Accessories & Parts Warranty

All warranty periods begin from the original date of purchase and cover material or manufacturing defects only.

📝 Warranty Registration

To activate your kayak you must register it within 30 days of delivery, local pickup, or purchase from an authorized dealer. Failure to register within this window will void the warranty.

⚠️ Registration Required

Register your kayak at hoodoosports.com/apps/product-registration using the serial number located on your product. Don't skip this step — unregistered products are not eligible for warranty coverage.

📦 Shipping & Freight Damage

Freight damage is different from a manufacturing defect and isn't covered under this warranty — but we still want to help you get it resolved quickly.

⚠️ Inspect Before You Sign

Before accepting delivery, inspect the box and kayak for visible damage. If you spot any:

  • Note the damage on the delivery receipt or bill of lading before signing, if possible
  • Take photos of the damage and packaging before unboxing further
  • Contact us at customerservice@hoodoosports.com within 48 hours of delivery

Damage discovered and reported after accepting delivery without noting it at the time is much harder for us to pursue with the carrier on your behalf.

đźš« What's Not Covered

The following exclusions apply to all Hoodoo Sports products:

General Wear & Use

  • Normal wear and tear — fading, chipping, or aging from regular use
  • Damage from exceeding the kayak's rated weight capacity
  • Corrosion from failing to rinse with fresh water after saltwater use
  • Dragging or beaching on rough terrain
  • Towing behind a powered vessel
  • Impact, drops, or collision damage
  • Rolling, flipping, or other non-customary use
  • Rental or commercial use
  • Environmental damage — UV degradation, freezing, or extreme heat
  • Cosmetic-only issues (color variation, minor surface blemishes) that don't affect structural integrity
  • Kayaks sold as "demo," "blemished," or "as-is"

Transport & Handling

  • Over-tightened ratchet straps or heavy items stacked on the kayak during transport
  • Lifting or carrying a loaded kayak — handles and hardware are rated for the kayak's own weight, not gear, batteries, or motors left installed
  • Transporting or trailering with a pedal drive or motor still attached
  • Hanging storage: Ceiling storage should only use purpose-built kayak lift systems, with straps positioned about a third of the way in from the bow and stern, lifting straight up. Never lift or suspend a kayak using a ratchet strap, the carry handles, or accessory track rails.

Hardware & Installation

  • Impact drivers used on any kayak hardware — hand tools or a torque-set drill only
  • Overtightened or cross-threaded molded-in inserts
  • Unauthorized structural modifications or repairs
  • Drilling or installing mounts not approved by Hoodoo Sports

Motor, Anchors & High-Load Accessories

  • Motors mounted at any non-factory location — hull damage from weight, vibration, or stress at that point isn't covered
  • Hero 130 Apex: motor use through the installed factory transom is intended use; remove the motor before transporting
  • Hoodoo-branded motor mounts carry their own 90-day accessory warranty — hull stress from motor use through any mount, including ours, isn't a hull defect
  • Shallow-water anchors (Power-Pole and similar): pull-out force gear tracks and inserts aren't rated for — insert failure or hull cracking from anchor use isn't covered
  • Scupper carts, anchor/stake-out poles inserted into scupper holes

Third-Party Products

Motors, fish finders, batteries, and other accessories not manufactured by Hoodoo Sports are covered under their own manufacturer's warranty — register those directly with the manufacturer and direct claims to them, not us.

This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages. Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product.

🔧 Maintenance Requirements

Keeping up with basic maintenance is required to keep your warranty valid. Full model-specific care guidance is available HERE. At a minimum:

  • Rinse After Every Use: Rinse all products thoroughly with fresh water, especially after saltwater exposure
  • Pedal Drive & Trolling Motor Care: Inspect and lubricate moving parts regularly to prevent corrosion and wear
  • Storage: The preferred way to store a kayak is upside down, on padded racks positioned about a third of the way in from each end — resting on the gunwales, the strongest part of the hull, with the bow and stern hanging free. Store trolling motors dry and indoors when not in use.
  • Seals & Hardware: Periodically check scupper plugs, hatches, and connection points for tight seals and proper function

📨 Filing a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, complete our online claim form at hoodoosports.com/apps/product-registration.

Include as much detail as possible to help us move quickly:

  • Proof of purchase (order number or receipt)
  • Product details, including the serial number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photos and/or video showing the problem

Once submitted, our Customer Service team will follow up with next steps, additional questions, or a status update on your claim.

⚠️ Heads up: Incomplete or vague submissions may result in delays or denial of coverage. The more detail and documentation you provide upfront, the faster we can help.

📌 Additional Warranty Notes

  • All warranties are non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser
  • Warranty registration must be completed within 30 days of delivery or purchase to activate coverage
  • Failure to follow maintenance and care guidelines may result in warranty denial
  • Replacement products assume the remaining warranty period of the original purchase date — warranties do not restart or extend upon replacement
  • If your original kayak model or color is no longer available at the time of a warranty replacement, Hoodoo Sports will provide a comparable current model of equal or greater value
  • Hoodoo Sports reserves the right to deny claims resulting from improper use, damage, or unauthorized modification

đźšš Warranty Replacement Shipping

  • Within 1 year of purchase: Hoodoo Sports covers standard replacement shipping costs within the lower 48 states for approved hull warranty claims
  • After 1 year of purchase: The customer is responsible for all applicable shipping costs associated with the replacement hull
  • Current shipping rates and delivery options apply at the time of the warranty replacement
