  • 1-Year Limited Trolling Motor Warranty
  • 90-Day Gear/Accessories/Parts Warranty

This warranty covers material or manufacturing defects from the original date of purchase.

Warranty Registration (Kayaks and Trolling Motors)

To activate the kayak or trolling motor warranty, the product must be registered within 30 days of receipt of shipment, local pickup, or purchase from an authorized dealer. Failure to register within this timeframe will void the warranty.

What’s Not Covered Under Warranty?

The following exclusions apply to all Hoodoo Sports products:

  • Normal Wear and Tear
    Abrasions, chipping, fading, or aging of the product.
  • Improper Use or Handling
    • Incorrect Transporting & Storage: Damage from improper transportation, such as over-tightening ratchet straps, stacking heavy objects, or failure to remove detachable components (e.g., pedal drives, trolling motors).
    • Overloading: Damage from exceeding the weight capacity specified for your kayak.
    • Failure to Rinse & Maintain: Corrosion or damage from lack of rinsing after saltwater use.
    • Use with Unauthorized Accessories: Damage from drilling into the kayak or using incompatible mounts or modifications.
    • Improper Launching & Landing: Damage from dragging or landing on rough terrain.
    • Towing: Damage caused by towing behind a powered vessel.
    • Neglect or Accidental Damage: Damage from impact, drops, collisions, or exposure to extreme conditions.
  • Improper Storage, Maintenance, or Care
    Failure to clean, store properly, or maintain your product as outlined below.
  • Environmental or Weather-Related Damage
    Heat, UV damage, freezing, or other weather-related causes.
  • Unauthorized Alterations or Repairs
    Structural modifications or repairs not approved by Hoodoo Sports void the warranty.
  • Use Outside of Intended Purpose
    • Rental or commercial use.
    • Non-customary activities (e.g., rolling, flipping).
    • Any use outside the product’s intended purpose.
  • Specific Kayak Restrictions
    • Damage from scupper carts or staging poles in scupper holes.
    • Kayaks sold as "demo", "blemished", or "as-is" are not covered.
  • Cosmetic Defects
    • Color Variations: UV fading, color shifts, or cosmetic discoloration.
    • Surface Blemishes: Minor imperfections that do not impact structural integrity.

This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages. Liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the product under warranty.

Proper Maintenance Requirements

Failure to perform proper maintenance may void your warranty. The following guidelines must be followed:

  • Cleaning & Rinsing: Rinse all products thoroughly with fresh water after use, especially after saltwater exposure.
  • Pedal Drive & Trolling Motor Maintenance: Inspect and lubricate moving parts regularly to prevent corrosion or wear.
  • Storage Guidelines: Store kayaks on supported racks or flat surfaces away from direct sunlight or extreme heat. Trolling motors should be stored dry and indoors when not in use.
  • Seal Inspection: Check all scupper plugs, hatches, and connection points regularly for tight seals and proper function.

Filing a Warranty Claim

Be sure to include as much information as possible to help expedite the process, including:

  • Proof of purchase (such as your original order number or receipt)
  • Product details, including the serial number
  • A detailed description of the issue
  • Clear photos and/or videos showing the problem

Once your claim is submitted, a member of our Customer Service team will review your request and follow up with either additional questions, a request for further documentation, or a status update on your claim.

Incomplete or vague submissions may result in delays or denial of warranty coverage.

Additional Warranty Notes

  • All warranties are non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser.
  • Warranty registration is required within 30 days of delivery or purchase to activate coverage.
  • Failure to follow maintenance and care guidelines may result in warranty denial.
  • Hoodoo Sports reserves the right to deny claims resulting from improper use, damage, or unauthorized modification.
