📦 New Kayak Shipping Rates & Zones – Effective October 6, 2025

At Hoodoo Sports, we know that one of the most important parts of ordering a kayak is the shipping experience—from the cost, to delivery time, to how your kayak arrives at your doorstep. That’s why we’re making some updates to ensure your kayak gets to you faster, safer, and with fewer surprises.

Starting Monday, October 6, 2025, we’re rolling out new shipping rates and introducing a four-zone system to better reflect actual freight costs and delivery timelines from our warehouse in Houston, TX.

These changes aren’t about making more money. They’re about delivering a better experience—from the moment you place your order to the first time your kayak hits the water.

Why We’re Updating Shipping Zones

Previously, we split the lower 48 states into three shipping zones. But over time, we’ve seen that customers in certain parts of the country—especially remote or high-cost areas—were experiencing higher shipping expenses and longer transit times.

To provide a better overall shipping experience, we’re introducing a fourth zone and updating delivery estimates for each region. This new structure reflects the realities of freight logistics today—especially when it comes to distance, handling, and delivery timelines from our Houston warehouse. While we’ve held off on raising shipping prices for quite some time, rising freight, fuel, and labor costs have made it necessary to adjust. These updates will help us continue working with only the most reliable, high-quality freight carriers—so your kayak arrives safely and on time.

Please keep in mind that delivery times are estimates. Your proximity to a major urban area plays a big role in how quickly your kayak arrives. Customers near large cities typically receive their shipments faster, while those in more rural or remote areas may experience longer transit times.

Updated Kayak Shipping Costs

Here’s a breakdown of the new shipping rates and estimated delivery times by zone:

  • Expedited Shipping – $275 (2–7 business days)
• Zone 2
  • Standard Shipping – $200
  • Expedited Shipping – $300
• Zone 3
  • Standard Shipping – $250
  • Expedited Shipping – $350
• Zone 4
  • Standard Shipping – $275 (3-4 weeks)
  • Expedited Shipping – $375 (2-10 business days)

Oversized Kayak Surcharge: Kayaks like the Hero 130 Apex are considered oversized and will incur a $50 freight surcharge in addition to the standard or expedited rate.
